Yeah, great quality with the background and the lighting. And you're well spoken and down to earth.

Anyway, I was wondering about Second Life. I have a lot of questions, but my main one is whether or not it's worth investing the time to design and set up a store. You mention it helping with bills, but can it be someone's main source of income?

I like your philosophy, by the way, about integrating second life and your real life.

Alright, I've bookmarked your blog. I'm starting to look into virtual worlds on mine at http://www.roblayton.net/blog, and I'd like your input.

Hello Rob, thanks for the comment :) To answer your question, I would say yes, yes to investigating and giving the business world in Second Life a try. So far I've been successful enough to pay some of my bills. It is a big help, of course with the economy in the USA right now every bit especially helps. There was a survey I recently saw about the Second Life economy. (they use to have graphs, but they've changed that into some sort of HTML data files)

Here is the link: https://blogs.secondlife.com/community/features/blog/2009/04/09/state-of-the-economy

This article was made April, 9, 2009.
- Almost two-thirds of the business owners report they generate positive net income from Second Life but for most it is just part of their total income.

* 64% report that they generate positive net income from the products/services they sell
* 52% generate up to 20% of their total income from Second Life
* 5% generate 20-40%
* 2% generate 40-60%
* 5% generate 80-100%
* 36% report that they break-even or lose money from the products/services they sell.

I recommend taking a look at that link, hopefully they wont get rid of this survey any time soon.
