Xstreet -fair product reviews?

Interesting situation came up that brought some questions to mind in regards to people leaving negative feedback on items that are listed on xstreet.

I like the rating system becasue people can be honest without being destructive toward the creator of the item. A shopper can just browse through the listings, debate on the quality of an item based on how many stars it gets, and I don't mind so much if one of my items has a lower star rating for whatever reason it may be!

Feedback: don't get me wrong i do like feedback, it lets me know what can be added and improved, but I prefer the feedback to come in a constructive manner, well thought and clearly explained. Unfortunately there are people who really "flame" in a hateful negative way.

Buyers rights? How much right should the buyer have to leave whatever feedback they feel is necessary on a product for the public view? Should a respectful line be drawn? I think so. And yet I do feel they should be able to leave a comment or two about their opinion. "I liked this, or I didn't like this." Certainly being on the buying end there have been times I wanted to make a fair assessment of a product for the next buyer.

However, what about when a buyer down right flames an item, to the point they have posted "Do not buy this item!" to potential shoppers?

As a business owner trying to make money from Second Life to pay my real life bills I find this to be very unfair, and yet destructive as it directly deters people from willing to give it a try!

Seller rights:
I think its my right to moderate such a comment on xstreet, when it becomes destructive, I see the line drawn where I am in my rights to remove it, since it is not so much a review then an direct attack. Should a product of mine be that horrible it deserves the harsh criticism and often receives such attention then I would simply take it down until I could improve it.

I would have preferred something along the lines of.. "I bought this product and was disappointed for such and such reasons. This or that could have been done better"

I am curious on peoples thoughts!
