Remodel for Mithica - Demons & Angels

Wel I did it again, its been a while, but I got tired of how mithica looked and felt that it could be updated, and the business better positioned and utilized, make them all accessible and easier to find. Plus I wanted something more grand and impressive. In the past I've never been all that happy with my builds, but I am VERY happy with how my new castle/temple thing came out. I think it better suits my theme, and much more interesting to explore. Of course I have tons of pictures for you to see, of D&A the new White Oak Equines and Rez Fantazy spots.

I hope you like it, I do and it saved me tons of prims! I think all the outdated grasses and trees did it O.o (click for large version)

Normally I wouldn't post things that dont have anything to do with my products and fashion, but I feel this is a very important issue that could affect many, I support fighting SOPA, I am but one person but if I can at least spread the word and show support to hundreds of more people, I will. Hello fans :) I wanted to make a post to you all and say thank you, for all your support during the year of 2011. It was a good year, allot of great new products came out for Demons & Angels, as well as White Oak Equines. We participated in the Fantasy Faire 2011 to raise money for cancer and my fans helped raise 33,325 $L - That is roughly USD$124.01 I hope to get into 2012 fantasy fair as well. :)

Your constant support and kind comments keep me going. It always amazes me that people out there like my artwork enough to stick it on their avatars, I am flattered each day with every sale or compliment that comes my way. Its more then a hobby, it also helps to pay my real life bills, and thats possible by all of you! so thank, you thank you :) You help my dreams come true.

I hope to come out with many more great products this year! one of my new years resolutions is to try and fill my store with more great stuff and leave little space!

I'd also like to redesign Mithica again, the region that are home to my three businesses, but I never end up liking any of the builds I come up with. I know that the land and space could be better utilized for better shopping and success. Does anyone out there know any great sim designers that preferably know about setting up stores/malls? I need something custom though. Other wise I will need to sketch some serious plans out and hope it comes out decent O.o

If anyone had suggestions, please send them my way, be it clothes or product ideas or whatever :)

Mithica Looking for Models.

I am in need for models and this is the call for hire. I am looking for SERIOUS applicants ONLY, male and female. People that can spend the time in my stores and putting in the hours. My store is a fantasy medeival theme, called Demons & Angels.

I am paying with Linden dollars. 60 linden dollars each 48 hours posed. In one month if you were able to pose the entire time, you could have earned 900 lindens.

This number could become higher in the future.
I will be hiring six models only, I am looking for people that will actually commit and time and treat this as an in world job instead of a passing whim.

I want up to date- nice looking models with decent skins and hair. You are not required to stay at your computers, it could be an alt account for all I care, so long as your there to model. You could be working or sleeping, I need your avatar body on the pose stand wearing my outfits.

White Oak Equines - Sorrel Bay

Hey all's - I made a new horse color for White Oak Equines, this one is called Rush and its kind of a mix between a sorrel and bay coloration. I hope you all enjoy :)

Out of the Box:

~ Three riding horses: Western Saddle English Saddle Bareback (horse with no tack)

~ Standing Horse Version (less prims and less scripts for rezzing on your land) ~ Halter ~ Bales of hay ~ Bridle ~ Saddles (English and Western)

Three Riding horses: These are the horses you can wear and ride. Western and English horses are included so you can ride to your style preference. There is also a bare back version that has no tack on it.

Standing horse version: This horse is meant for rezzing in your barn or on your lawn, it has less prims and less scripts to reduce lag. It's basically just for show, for those of you who wish to display a copy :) Its eyes blink and ears twitch and it lifts its left leg randomly, bringing it to life just as the riding versions.

Extras: Additionally the box included the tack, as well as a casual halter. There are some decorative bales of hay.

Hello all :) I wanted to remind everyone about my Pet Ferrets that I have for sale in my Demons & Angels store. I made them some months back out of my love and interests for ferrets, and named each one of them after ferrets I own or have owned. These are adorable little critters and I am quite proud of them! :) They are a cute accessory for any avatar to wear, and make great conversational pieces and attractions! If your a ferret enthusiast like me you will LOVE these :)

Right now I have five different colors/designs to choose from. If anyone is interested I am open to commissioning for a specific color, if anyone is interested in having a ferret fashioned after their own.

I wanted to put a spot light on some of my real life work brought into Second Life. Yes I was simply a traditional artist before I turned digital! I have a website called The Fantasy Art of Candace Bell, featuring a gallery of my artwork, some things for sale, prints I offer and what not. However, I brought in some of my artwork to sell digitally to people in Second Life that would like to hang it in their SL dwellings :)

Right outside of Demons & Angels - fantasy clothing and accessories. I have a small corner designated to some of my works.

Of course the theme is fantasy as I love everything fantasy! Equine, horses, unicorn and pegasus. Anthro furry art and dragons! Each painting when bought comes in a package that offer two wall mounted styles - with and without frame. Each painting is a meere 250 linden dollars :)

Creepers in Mithica!!!! My hubby Valen rezzed these right outside my Mithica home XD For those of you who have no idea what im talking about, creepers are a kind of "mob" bad guy in the fastly growing popular game called Minecraft, which I am a huge fan off! These little bastards spawn at night and walk up to you, hiss and them explode! making a huge pit in the ground, demolishing your buildings and damaging you! and they are sneaky little bastards!

This scared me lol, you know you played to much when you back up waiting for the explosion and feeling your heart jump into your chest!

My first one, but its been a bit of a hassle getting use to using new keys and working with second life and photoshop. Mithica Egg Hunt! Huge Success!

First off - thanks to everyone who came and had fun and participated and hung out! it was a great time :) everyone seemed to have fun, and everyone seemed to get what they wanted! Spare no expense on all the high end priced stuff XD I gave away allot of horses from White Oak Equines lol.

Everyone was a great sport, aside from a few breaking the "one egg" rule, but there will always be some party poopers. I took tons of pictures, if you came to one of the two egg hunts you may very well see your avatar in one of my photos!

My husband in real life Valen Planer helped me out, scripted up the eggs for us, and was the one with the great idea to make huge eggs to carry around to trade in for the prize! it was so funny watching everyone walk around with this burden of an egg XD

Mithica Easter Egg Hunt - April Friday the 22nd

On April Friday the 22nd, Mithica will be having an Easter Egg Hunt!

Participants willing to come for the event will have a chance to search the sim looking for well hidden eggs around the region! We ask that participants limit their egg finding to just one per person so everyone has a chance to hopefully find one of their own before time runs out and they are all taken!

There will be two hunts that day, the first Easter egg hunt will be begin at 9 am PDT(slt) and go until 10:30 am PDT (slt)

The second Easter egg hunt that day will be from 4pm pdt(slt) to 5:30 pm PDT(slt)

RULES FOR THE EVENT: The event is limited to one egg per person. Special scripts will be made to let me know who has picked up an egg, so picking up multiple and passing them to friends wont work. People who cheat to take more then one will be disqualified. Please be kind and share!

Once you have an egg, wear it to hold it... and find Piper Shan or Valen Planer at the Easter Circle and let us know what you wish to trade your Easter egg token for, and it will be sent to you once you trade in your egg. Make sure to wander around Mithica to see what your prize options are. If your not sure and want to think about it, you can send your egg at a later date along with a note-card stating what you want as your reward. :)

Fantasy Faire 2011 Comes to a close - D&A did well!

Hi again fans! Fantasy Faire 2011 is coming to an end. I am told soon the sims donated for the cause will be disappearing sometime today or tomorrow. I thought it be a good time to recap on the whole event. This was my first time participating. I wish I had done so sooner in previous years but I just didn't make my lazy ass look into it! But most certainty Ill be participating next year!

It was fun helping toward a good cause, seeing how well my own participations and donations did, and the exposure was awesome and it seems to have helped business quite a bit! Hopefully more then just this month :) Demons & Angels did well! For those of you who don't know, D&A is my fantasy clothing business within Second Life, and I have been at it for many years now!

For our first year at the Fantasy Faire 2011 my wonderful fans managed to help us all raise 33,325 $L - That is roughly USD$124.01 .. wow over 100 dollars! Thats more then I expected! I'm very proud and impressed. Wouldn't have happened it wasn't for fans of my work! so thank you very much!

Thank you also to all the Fantasy Faire Staff, and thank you to fashion blogs... Ensconced in Velvet and Eclectic Equations for reviewing a few of my items which were features in the Fantasy Faire 2011.

The Fantasy Faire 2011 auction is under way! Many great designers donated some of their products for the relay! the builders for the Fantasy Faire event arranged a nice area for people to come browse whats up for bid! Its for a great cause, so I hope many of you will come check it out and place a bid or two!

Three of my flying fantasy horses. They are made by me, but I sell them under a different business name called White Oak Equines. Fully animated rideable horses, that fly as well! A white or black pegasus, or an infernal hell horse! You can see videos on them here at Youtube.

Pet ferrets! these things are adorable, they can sit on your shoulder, or they can be worn in a carrying side bag. They are animated and make cute ferret sounds. They come in a few colors, but this auction ferret features Yuka! Find out more about them here.

Hello everyone, once again! I took some more time to explore this awesome event that is the Fantasy Faire in Second Life of 2011! I'm still being amazed at the talent out there between builders and designers, sim creators and merchants! I visited three more sims to check out the varying themes.. and I must say, none disappoint! These three have much to see, though you will get overwhelmed by -Enchanted Exotic World- and -Fantastical and Magical- sims in particular, its almost dizzying trying to take in all the packed full details!

From Saturday April 2nd to Sunday April 10th 2011, thousands of Second Life residents and creators are coming together to support the American Cancer Society's vision of a world without cancer. Friends Fighting Cancer (FFC) have transformed nine sims of Second Life into a fantasy wonderland: the Fantasy Faire 2011 to benefit Relay for Life of Second Life.

The Fantasy Faire 2011 is the largest gathering of fantasy designers, enthusiasts, roleplayers and performers in the virtual world. Ten days of commerce, special events, live music concerts, exclusive items auctions, RFL ribbon hunts and fundraising to benefit Relay for Life and the fight against cancer.

This nine sim event is bringing together such fantasy genres as Fairy, Elven, Magic, Mermaid, Goth, Demon, Vamp, Neko, Micro, Steampunk, Sci-Fi and more including fantasy landscaping and appearance such as skin & hair! FFC's goal in 2011 is to raise $20,000 USD for RFL of SL. The Fantasy Faire 2011 will also offer visitors an opportunity to celebrate the survivors of cancer, remember and honor loved ones lost, and to fight back with the American Cancer Society.

I myself have been doing very well! and I thank you all who have come to Nemo Revisited Sim or my personal shop at Demons & Angels to purchase a product and donate to the vendors! Valistar vendor alone had taken in 5,000$L so far and the Pet Ferret vendor, 4,500 $L ... my Hunt Ribbon has made 1,600&L in donations to the relay benefit! In total Demons & Angels has so far brought in 16, 700$L that is US$62.18... small compared to the grand total but nothing to sneeze at! Just a reminder! the Pet Ferret if purchased through a Fantasy Faire vendor is discounted, normally they are 700 $L but this one is just 400 - click here for details!

Anyway! now to the three new sims I visited for this years 2011 Fantasy Faire! First we start off with Enchanted Mysts. This was a really elegant and yet quaint elven inspired sim, at least that what I felt about it! I like its clean lines and atmosphere.

One of the stores that caught me eye, that I liked the design of.

Me again, sitting on one fo the avilable comfy chairs not far from the rez point.

This sim had some great marshy landscape, gave great atmosphere. reminded me allot of the world Pandora in the movie Avatar, where the Na'vi lived.

FANTASTICAL AND MAGICAL
I found this sim to be overwhelming filled with goodies and all kinds of odd whimsical decorations. I was like falling down into Alice in Wonderlands rabbit whole, it was a strange world indeed, and I even found the Mad hatters tea table! Hint... its up in a tree! I didn't see any cheshire cats though :P

A fantastic sim full of fun, interactive and edible delights. An inspiring place to play!

I did a bit of wandering around the Fantasy Faire 2011 to check out the sims. I only visited three so far, lots to see! so many pictures to take! What I did see was amazingly, awesome fabulous! Incredible builds! I envy the talent of these people! not just in the sim design but the many business owners, artist and creators in Second Life that have sent up themed stores for the relay!

This sim is next to Nemo Revisited, and I loved it. Its sort of a mix between Arabian and medieval, a interesting combination but one that works amazingly, and the use of colors, interesting plants and lanterns almost have a same steam-punk affect which transitioned nicely from Nemo Sim.

Forest of Shadow was amazing, there was so much to see! I loved the magical / mystical feel of it, a dark and ethereal forest, HUGE props to those who designed it, amazing! It might just be my favorite of the three Fantasy Faire sims I looked at in this batch.

The sims have opened to those of us participating with shops and vendors! I was able to get into Nemo Revisited Sim which is where you will find my own Demons & Angels store set up! Nemo Revisited is an awesome steam-punk inspired theme! and it looks awesome! I'm so excited and pumped that I was assigned this location for the Fantasy Faire 2011! Only a few vendors have set up so I only took pictures of my personal location - though I plan to go back over the next day or so to browse and take more pictures of the over all design and document a bit of my experience.

I have allot of vendors out, quite a few for the benefit! including a really great prize for the Ribbon Hunt! Discounted pet ferret for the relay, so be sure to come check things out! From Saturday April 2nd to Sunday April 10th 2011!

In order to further expand we have decided its time to bring on some committed models to show off Demons & Angels, and Rez Fantazy's and White Oak Equines newest avatars, attire and accessories.

We are looking for well-put-together (attractive) avatars in Second Life, of both the male and female gender. Preferably with human skins. If not then perhaps apply to model one of Rez Fantazy's anthro (animal) avatars

The requirements in what we are looking for in an employee are simple.

1) Friendly

2) Committed enough to put in good modeling hours ( we don't mind if you do this while working or sleeping)

3) Decent looks, skin hair, eyes. ( we will dress you, so clothes don't matter!)

Free items from any of Piper Shans Designs in Mithica! Every 40 hours you put into modeling you get to choose a free item of your choice. It can be anything I have for sale in Mithica. Be it an outfit, avatar, or house!

D&A store makeover!

I decided to give my store another makeover, though I loved my old store, I was already running out of space on the womans side! O.o I wanted something more to theme, and yet modern and spacious. I found a great floor design I really liked called CoCo 's ~ Shop / Store Corner ~ I just changed the textures for a more fantasy medieval stone feel but kept allot of the great elements from my old shop, like the TV displayed and the lights. Anyway of course I have pictures!!

All the needed information about my store and products can now be found at the central service desk! Including information on where I buy my skins and hairs from as seen on the models in the vendor images of the clothes I sell, also freebies!... a free face light or male or female clothing sets- fantasy themed of course!

So come and visit and take a stroll. Lounge in D&A's seating area with friends, or take a stroll around my region Mithica! its green and lush with nice pine forests and great views of the ocean :)

Details of the Reindeer Party

Thank you everyone who came out to the Reindeer release party at Rocket City Community. It was a great time and people seemed to really enjoy themselves hanging out, chatting and dancing with friendly people :)

For those of you who do not know what Rocket City Communty is, here is a description taken from their region profile.

"The Rocket City Community is a fun and friendly PG furry community! We have weekly events, a beautiful sim and community center to relax and unwind in, and a wonderful Dealer's Den full of some of the best furry avatars in SL!"

You can visit their location HERE They have nice lounge areas to hang out and a bunch of great furry avatars vendors "up stairs" in their vendor room.

I can speak from experience that the staff there is great! all friendly personable and wonderful. I have had furry avatar release party's with them before. This time the Dj was Kryxia Silverfall, and I believe Kryxia will DJ for other events, I highly recommend!

The landscape for the event was stunning! apparently it was the set up they used for their winter festival party which hadn't been taken down yet, but it was perfect for the theme of reindeer! I adored it, I want to go and hang out there all day! space and snow and pine trees go beautifully together! I have of course taken many pictures to show you!

This first picture is just outside the convention center, advertisement set up for my Reindeer, I believe they were later turned into teleport signs to get to the main event for people that showed up, as the event was actually in the sky on platforms.

Over all picture of the platform the event was held on. Just love it, loved it! :D

After my vendors were set out.

Everyone on the dance floor! we got a good crowd :)

Couple Reindeer's dancing the night and way. That is me and Valen Planer, and a fan of the avatar dancing in a group.

Beautiful stars and colors swirled by, it was an animated sky and I wish you could have seen it as I did.

Why the SL sales drastic decline? How can I improve?

Over the past couple months my SL sales have dropped drastically, it dropped by about 2\3 and it seemed to have happened around the time that second life went through some changes and updates. It has been suggested to me that the search engines have changed and that people are not being found out there as easily? I'm not sure how true this is, that is why I ask of anyone else has had a drop and sales and knows why?

I don't think its lack of people or spending, though I know the market place has sort of plateaued it hasn't actually declined.

The search engine in SL used to show shops by who had the highest traffic, who was the most popular, but now I do not see that encorperated to the new SL search engine? or am I blind and just not see it?

Over all my question is this -
1) Has anyone found a decrease in sales?
2) What is the most effective way to have my shop listings found and keep traffic coming and going with the new changes? What do you do to keep sales up?

3)Does anyone have any official knowledge as to why there is a decrease in sales?

I had a time where I didn't make many new products but I have never had such a dramatic drop because of that!? I have updated the region and thinking up events to hold and releasing more products and formulating more product ideas. I have an active blog and twitter, I do what I can, but I need more help on the search engine side I think, but I dont understand how it determines what shows at the top of the search page?

Mithica retreat!

I gave my region Mithica a bit of a make over the past two days. Mostly because I needed to better manage my prims! I took out allot of older high prim trees and replaced everything with towering pines! I got mine at the market place from Heart Here, Wild Mountain Pine Trees - I love it, its so foresty without eating to many prims. All of Mithica has a coniferous feel. White Oak Equines looks nice, and I built myself a personal cottage not far from there.

I always had a special place to relax and build, and ive gone through a number of houses and platforms before, but this new setup is by far my favorite. I had to show it off he bit hehe.

I got my little cottage thing from Funky Junk, you can see the Marketplace listing here for the Sodwind model. Its not very big but thats what I liked about it, just enough room for standing around and designing, and places for a few friends to visit. Limited space makes me stick better to prim limits with furniture and decorating hehe.

And some samples of the inside of my cottage, or cabin, Im not sure what its technically called lol. I cant find an LM to the sofa's! sorry BUT I think it may have come from Japan Kanto , I've had it a while now.

This is Ein my pet Corgi pup that I adopted from A.I.F they are intelligent pet dogs that grow as they age and as you care for them. High detailed and well animated. You can see them Here on the Marketplace. I recently saw they offer pet cats as well.

Black and Copper!

Finally done all the colors! There are six to choose from. Brown, Grey, Cream, Black, White and Copper. Ive posted an example of all the colors in previous blog posts so just scroll down older entries to see them. I usually prefer to keep the colors of my avatars looking a natural and realistic as possible. Its just my personal preference to try and stay away from something to cartoonish. Now I just need to test them all out, make sure all functions normally, then toss together a note card and box em up for the release date! See here for release date information!

I hope you are all excited as I am! Im really proud of these avatars and how they have come out! Its great with the alpha mask. Im going to have to someday update my old avatars! Ugh the work ahead of me! Thank you SL updates for forcing me to update as well hehe - Im a lazy ass.

Reindeer at play

Took a picture to show my progress on the first reindeer prototype. Reindeer at play! took a picture on the swings in Mithica ;) more interesting then just a dull plain old snapshot.

Gotta tweak the skin more
- add a tail
- make better hoofs/hands, more akin to reindeer
- make more interesting looking eyes

...and then lots more little things! But I am loving to new alpha mask, bye bye invisible prims!

Yay!! someone blogged about my ferrets on Second Life! Fashion4sl's Blog posed a nice style with a ferret on her shoulder, that is Moe, to bad they didn't show the bag as well, that would have been awesome, but this is still neat, and flattering!

I manages to get some pictures of a few avatars in Mithica, while I was working one day (Mithica being my region)

First, I saw a very pretty avatar riding on one of my demo horses. I loved what she was wearing! (you can try a horse demo here )

Then this very pretty elven woman who was wearing my Bretta dress from demons & angels

Then we have my model manager decked out in hellish theme riding on White Oak Equines new Hell horse!
